Hi, I'm really worried about getting good LoRs for my applications. I know I have one solid LoR from my volunteering but my grades aren't that great, and I haven't really interacted with my professors. This fall, I moved out of state to attend attend another school. I've been doing great in this school so far, but I only have one science class that I might be able to get an "ok" LoR from. I don't have any other science classes on my schedule nor do I have any professors that really know me well. Any advice? Thanks.

You just have to do the same things that every other student have to do to get great LORs, that is attending all classess, getting excellent scores on exams and grades for the classess, and building great relationships with professors in and outside of the classroom. It takes a lot of time and effort. There is no short cut. But you can start doing that now 😉

Problem is, I HAVE to apply this cycle so it's a little late to build up more relationships.

If you apply now without NO good LORs, you know yourself your chance of acceptance is slim. So do what you have to do. GL 🙂

This is going to sound harsh, but if you really can't find three good LoR's then you probably aren't a good candidate. There might be a lower tier school that would take *any* three letters no matter how pitiful they were. You don't HAVE to apply this cycle. You could go get a job and apply next cycle or finish a BS or find an accelerated MS degree.

I would write out a really good recommendation request letter. Make sure that you ask them if they are willing to write a STRONG letter of recommendation. Attach your picture, resume, and cover letter. This may help them to remember you. Good luck!
