Even in the worst case scenario, if WCU went belly-up in your 2nd year, you're automatically be found a spot in one of the other DO schools.
That's great. Thanks for that tidbit.

The AOA and its accrediting body COCA takes accreditation VERY seriously, so there are no unaccredited DO scools. Just because they haven't graduated a class dioesn't mean they've gone through an extremely rigorous vetting process to make sure they can get students through to graduation. If anything, the process has gotten even a lot more stringent over the past decade./QUOTE]
Each provisional school is required to put back money in an escrow account to cover the cost of paying for their students to get the proper medical education at another institution in case they do NOT become accredited. This means that each provisional school literally has millions of dollars "tied up" until their first class graduates and they get their full accreditation. The chances of a provisional school not becoming fully accredited is very slim indeed.
WCU has met the COCA standards at the earliest possible time, these standards could be met and our Clinical Dean has received a Commendation from COCA on our clinical rotations before our inaugural class started them. (They will start them in August.) As a current 2nd year, I am far more worried about being struck by lightening, three times in a row, than WCU not becoming accredited.

I'm not trying to make anyone angry. It's a legitimate question: Should I go to a school in the U.S. that's never graduated a class, or attend a foreign school with a good reputation?
I think WCU is a great school, or I wouldn't be applying to it.
What's your MCAT score? Only go to SGU if you are sure you can make the cut to get to the clinical years.
I have no idea what my MCAT score is. I made a 6/6/9 back in 2008 with no prep what so ever. I take it again August 17th. My verbal is consistently up to a 10, just finished content review. I expect high 20's. My pre-req GPA was 3.67.
How is life in Hattiesburg? Much to do? I'd be bringing my wife who is not a student.
I think I'd sooner recommend SGU to someone with bad grades and a good MCAT than vice versa.
Talk to current students there to get a better sense.
Woah...wait a minute. That was a real, thoughtful answer. Are you feeling OK JohnnyD?

You really do need to realize I wasn't specifically picking on you - you just really need to learn how to better analyze scientific literature.
But this is irrelevant to this forum.
