Unbalanced DAT score

I want to get opinions on unbalance DAT score vs a balanced one. Someone told me that schools rather see even scores across all sections. My TS is very good, RC is MUCH lower, and PAT is in the middle. If there are two applicants with the same AA, but one is all over the place and one is even, would schools look at the first unfavorably?

I would say that it depends on the severity of the fluctuations. For example, if someone did really well in the sciences and then flopped the reading comprehension and PAT (>/= 16), then the school would see that as not being a well-rounded individual. If you fluctuated but still kept everything above a 17 or 18, then I think you are alright because they will look at that and say that you are "gifted" in other areas. It really just depends on the adcom/school and how they view certain scores.

You are probably over thinking this... However, I'm in the same boat. I scored well above average in science/math/PAT but below average in RC. If the rest of your application is strong, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just focus on the strong parts of your file. Good luck.

Came across this thread in a search. I'm also in that boat. 18 PAT and 17 RC, but 22 TS and 21 AA. I can't say how well it will work out for me yet because I'm still waiting for the ADA to upload my scores. Sigh.

RC22 is not bad at all.
I would worry if I have AA22 and RC17, but not with TS30 and RC22.

Thanks. I don't know too many pre-dents personally, so everything I know is based on SDN. In the beginning, I didn't know that everything is slewed here, but now I do. lol.
