I got an email today with an offer to interview on January 12th. Has anybody else heard back from them yet? Do you know how many people they normally invite to interview?

Also, if your travel arrangements permit, I would strongly suggest attending the optional mixer held the night before. Last year there was a huge turnout. It's a great opportunity to socialize with current students and fellow applicants. A lot of my nerves were settled going into the interview thanks to all the conversations the night before.

Thanks for the info! I didn't hear anything about that event the night before so I'm thinking they aren't doing it this year. I know they are having a lunch between interview sessions so maybe they are just doing that instead.

They probably haven't gotten around to sending out the email as this event doesn't cost the school anything.

Yep, looks like you were right! I got an email today as an invite to the mixer. I'm hoping my travel times allow me to attend.

I had my UNC interview Monday, January 7th. I went early because I could not make it on Saturday, the 12th.

They invited 60 students for interviews. 30 will achieve enrollment. I asked how many applicants usually accept UNC when offered admission. I was told that the last couple years, they had all but 1 or 2 accept their spot when offered admission. However, in the past, they have gone about 15 into their alternate list.

That tells me that almost everyone who gets into UNC is accepting them. If the trend continues, I think a wait-list is as good as a rejection for this year.

My husband applied and interviewed as well, and he has not heard anything yet either. I think they send out all the emails for waitlist or acceptance all at the same time, whenever that will be.

I believe that is correct as well. I've also heard that they will tell you what your alternate # is.

I've been anxiously checking my e-mail every day. I really enjoyed UNC.

Yeah I thought that was the case as well but wasn't sure.

I know they said about two weeks at the interview and since we're coming up on three I just started to wonder. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting (mostly) patiently.

For those of you accepting your offer for admissions, did you receive scholarship information in the application packet?

Also, is there a FB group already up so we can start getting to know one another and find roommates? Look forward to seeing you all in the Fall!!

Yes, I received scholarship information in with the admissions packet.

I haven't heard/seen anything about a facebook group. I assume once they finalize the class they will send out a list of names or something so it will be easier to connect then. Right now it would be hard to filter who is actually in the class.
