anyone know when UNC students get into the clinics?
also, how is the curriculum set up? for example, 1 test a week? a few tests a week? when are you scheduled to take boards?
all the input would help! thanks
You will be in clinic doing prophies on patients in the summer of 1st year. You will be doing operative on live patients starting fall of 2nd year. You can do crowns on patients in spring of 2nd year. Endo fall 3rd year.
When I took boards we did so after 2nd year. It has since been changed to summer of 1st year.
1st and 2nd year, be prepared for multiple tests a week.
any reason for the change back to 2nd year? also, doe unc give you any time off to study for the boards?
They changed because the scores dropped some and they think that may help (probably a decent idea). And no, UNC does not give you time specifically devoted to boards prep.
I'm deciding right now between UNC and my own state school, Medical College of Georgia. If I am able to change my state of residency, it won't be that much of a price difference, and I love the Chapel Hill area. Those factors aside, are there any other reasons that current UNC students may have heard that make UNC better than MCG? Thanks! This is a tough decision, so any input would be appreciated, especially from out of staters.
