Hello everyone, I have been looking many forums and also bought the book with all the admission stats but the stats seem to be all over the place. My stats are G.P.A around a 3.3 and Science around a 3.5. I recently took my DAT and got a 21 AA 21 TS and 21 PAT. UNC dental is def my number one choice as of right now. Im really nervous about the admission process. What are my chances of getting in? (I know this has been posted many times) Thanks

21 DAT is around 92%, sooooo only 8% of ppl who took the test are better than you. You go figure.

I think your scores and GPA will definitely get you an interview with good letter of recommendation. I do think it will take a strong interview and making them believe in you to get in. This is from a guy who got rejected from UNC this cycle

UNC dental school has a page that has the stats of the past several years of matriculated (I think) students. You should check this out along with the stats in the ADEA handbook. Based on the posts here, UNC places a big emphasis on the interview.

UNC is a very difficult school to figure out. Stats DO NOT mean everything when it comes to them. I have a 3.67 and a 21 on my DAT and I did not get in the school, and I know someone with a 3.0 and a 17 on their DAT that did get in. So I would not worry about your stats, You will probably get an interview their, so impress them during the interview, that is all I can say.

I agree with what jon said about UNC being hard to figure out. If you are instate though I wouldn't discount ECU's dental school because they have alot to offer their students just as UNC does.

The admissions process at UNC is a total crapshoot. You've got the numbers to garner an interview, which is the most important indicator for the committee. It seems like every student that I have met has something(s) that sets them apart from everyone else or makes them unique to the class. During the application process make sure you shine a bright light on your something(s). Make your application tight. Don't leave any space blank (and be honest too). It's a good idea to schedule a meeting with Dr. Wilder, who is a super nice guy that will give you a straight and honest answer regarding your chances. Good luck!

Depends if you are instate or out of state as well. I had 3.9/3.9 GPAs and 22/23/22 DAT and didn't get in. But my interview went horribly, so I didn't expect to get in.
