UNC-MED (Medical Education Development) Program

Hi, I'm applying to the UNC-MED program this upcoming cycle. I was wondering if someone who has done this program has any idea of what you do within the program, how difficult it is, what are they looking for in an applicant, and how it affects chances of getting acceptance into medical schools? Also, are there any particular med schools that favor this program?
