I have just been accepted to both Baylor and UNC but am having a tough time deciding between the two. I am an out of stater at both schools but both are relatively cheap, however, Baylor is a LOT cheaper. I was offered a $1000 per year scholarship and resident tuition at Baylor which would put the tuition cost at 30,000 for four years. You can get resident tuition at UNC after 1 year but total tuition cost would be more around 90,000. When interviewing I did like UNC quite a bit more but I am wondering how much one can actually tell from just one visit? The concern about Baylor is all the lab work they have to do there. Anyways, what would you do if you were in my situation? Have you heard anything good or bad about these schools? Which school would you choose? Thanks a bunch for any feedback.

😱...my choice would be baylor just because you will get to be around the likes of me....lol...just another added perk...

there is a houston vs. baylor thread..i would pm some of the students there, they have been very helpful to me in making my decision....from their point of view, some don't think the lab work is necessary but others do believe it is helpful. however, they said it was doable....obviously the labwork is really not a big deal b/c students do graduate on time.... unc and baylor are two awsome schools... at this point, i would go with the school you are more comfortable with and you would be truly happy at...but if i were you, i wouldn't pass up all that baylor is offering you...clearly, they want you there.... and i think large debts are 👎

Baylor. Clearly they think are you awesome, offering resident tuition and a scholarship. I don't know much about UNC, but dental schools as a whole offer the same curriculum and teach you the same things... how to be a dentist. I would definitely go with the cheaper school. I loved Nova last year, and would have gone if I hadn't been accepted in state, but in my opinion you don't pass up saving so much money in the long run. I know people that go to Baylor some who and have gone to Baylor, and they have nothing to say but great things. I wouldn't worry about the lab work. Worst case scenario you enhance your manual dexterity, all the while learning how to do some things that could be very valuable to you once you are on your own in 4 years. Congrats on your acceptances and good luck in making your decision!

Definitely Baylor. $30k for 4 years? You can't beat that. They are both great schools, so might as well go with the cheaper one.
