Someone pointed out to me recently that UNC was given accreditation with reporting this year. This means that they must report on some parts of the school which are not up to par? Does anyone know why this is? UNC is considered one of the top schools in the country so I don't quite understand what happened...

I've seen this question thrown around a few times on the board and have never seen an answer. It might be worth sending the Dean of Admissions a quick email or a call for an unaldulterated explaination.

I was notified on Dec 13th (I think), by phone but I got a confirmation letter as well. For those of you who are going on Jan 8th, are you going to the reception the night before, and where are you staying.. see you there

NC, what about you? do you have an interview on the 8th too?

No Im bummed...I dont...I am not an NC resident...but what surprises me is that I have heard NOTHING from NC, yet I have already interviewed at Harvard (waiting to hear back), and I received an interview to AND was accepted to University of Washington already...I am just sort of surprised I didnt hear anything from UNC...I have a really high GPA at Univ of Arizona in Biochem, and I have high DAT scores as well!...🙁 Oh well....I guess I just wasnt meant to be at UNC!🙁

Fleisch, don't be upset. It is extremely difficult to get in to UNC from out of state. It is one of the very best schools year in and year out. Best of luck wherever you end up. They will be lucky to have you!

Ranark, I won't be able to make the reception because I'll be at another interview until late that evening. I live only about 10 miles away, so I will be staying in my apartment. I'll see you there.
