Not sure. The website says they meet tomorrow. From what I hear they usually call the day after the meeting. I hope its Thursday@
 
does anyone know if they will email as well, I happen to be in a different country right now so calling might be a problem...
 
I am pretty sure they will not email...
I thought they will call on Feb 1st? R you sure its Thursday the 31st??? either way I can't wait...:scared:

I can't believe you're even considering attending - it's not an IVY. Are those little flashing hearts beside the Columbia slogan in your sig going to break?
 
I wish I had gone to the UNC interview, what were all your impressions of the school compared to others?
 
UNC is amazing. I had a tough time deciding between Stony and UNC because both impressed me so much.

They call you first thing in the morning.

I agree. UNC is amazing. I'm guessing they will call Thursday or Friday morning. ahhh!

Of the four interviews I had (NYU, Midwestern, and Nova), UNC destroys all the others. From facilities to faculty to Chapel Hill, there's literally nothing to dislike.

Not to put down any of the others on my interview list, because they all were impressive. UNC was just that incredible.
 
So, I happen to walk pass the Admission Committee Meeting today, and I saw them all seating around a big table in a room in the OD building...kinda scary:scared:!!!
I hope we all get in!🙂
BTW, I think they call us (hopefully) on Friday morning, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Send them an email to let them know. They are always very good about responding quickly, so if you can't be reached by phone, they may be willing to give you a response that way once the official word is going out.
 
haha...UNC is my state school so it will be cheaper and my grandparents are helping so I might not have to take out much loans at all if I attend there...VS Columbia I KNOW I will have to take LOANS there...LOANS suck I know. Thats the only reason I am considering...well also a guy I kinda like lives in NC as well, but thats getting too personal on here. LOL...
Besides I am hoping to get into UNC since I am a REAPPLICANT (I will be ashamed to tell someone that I was rejected by my own state school twice...🙁)
Then again I might still go to Columbia...the choice will be very hard! I will have to talk it over with my parents, friends, the guy I like..hehe, and grandparents etc etc.

How about yourself? is UNC your first choice or are you going to have a hard decision like me? (assuming we get in...if not I will be more then THRILLED to attend COLUMBIA <3 )

UNC is a beautiful school, I've interviewed there twice and some cousins of mine went there. Its definately my top choice. The only knock I'd put on UNC is sorta part of its strength as well, which is that its in chapel hill, which isn't a big town so they don't see as many patients as some of the schools in big cities. So if you're looking for a more clinically oriented school it might not be for you, but as far as research oriented schools go its typically considered one of the nation's best (though thats mostly from what they've told me, and I imagine they're a little biased). It has beautiful facilities, wonderful teachers, and chapel hill, north carolina is easily one of the most beautiful towns I've ever seen (plus in state tuition is dirt cheap).

In my experience they usually get all their calls in before noon the day after the selection meeting (so tomorrow, theoretically), starting bright and early. Its not clear whether they go alphabetically or not, I usually call in the early afternoon to clarify that they've made all the calls they plan to make for that day. Tomorrow will be my third time through the agonizing wait, maybe it'll be my lucky day 🙂.
 
Another thing that will be annoying is they are currently constructing the new dental building. You'll have to deal with the noise for at least 2-3 years there.
 
PLEASE post here as soon as you get a call from UNC!

Thats a good point, sophomore year I had to live with construction in the lot next to my dorm and I've never really gotten over it. And in my experience (which is skewed since I go to school in new orleans) such construction projects are rarely finished on schedule, it would suck to graduate without ever getting to use the facilities you had to endure the construction of for four years.

I agree. NC State is always under construction, almost every single building I have class in there is something going on. It sucks that I won't get to use the facilities before I graduate. Lucky freshman?:luck:

If I get into UNC, there will be absolutely no difficulty in making my selection.
 
so no one has gotten "the call" this morning? i can't help but admit I'm relieved, I thought I'd missed out again. I guess its another day of waiting though...

yeah, they always start bright and early and finish well before noon- and I'm sure with half the class being decided, at least someone would have posted if they had good news. I admit though, I kind of panicked when I woke up this morning to my alarm clock instead of my ringtone.

I'm jealous, I should have gone to the interview, the more I hear about UNC the more I wished I could have seen ti for myself. Congrats to all of you though 🙂
 
called unc. they've made all their calls, congrats to everyone who got in. I won't deny I'm frustrated, I'm a second year in state applicant with a decent gpa (3.34), fantastic DAT (22 aa, 22 ts, 24 PAT, 25 cr), great recommendations and plenty of shadowing and research. Even my interviews went well. I just don't get it. not that I mean to say anything by that, i'm just venting.

seriously, congrats to all who got in, you've earned the right to celebrate.
 
I got the call as well! It feels awesome since I am a re applicant. Still feels a little surreal. Congrats everybody!
 
OMG are you serious? I just got back from work and saw that UNC has made all their acceptances! I am shocked that I didn't get in with a 3.85 GPA and a 21AA/22TS DAT!!!! and YES TONS and TONS of research! you bet! well...I guess I will be taking out loans for the difference that my grandparents can't pay for to Columbia...Personally, I think UNC knows I am a HUGE DUKE fan and hate my guts or something....oh well...I am over it...🙄 Columbia here I come!! 😍

Hot damn, you got into Colubmia and not Unc?!? and I thought I should be upset... with those scores you should have been a shoe-in. You'll do great at Columbia, its an awesome school- many would call it one of, if not the absolute best in the country. I admit I feel better that I'm not the only one feeling a bit bitter about UNC (its selfish and stupid of me, but I'm human and I've put alot into this, so sue me). I know, we can make T-shirts!

Anyway, I'm getting more and more excited about Temple, absolutely everyone who I've talked to just adores it there and they all seem so friendly. Who knows, maybe UNC just wasn't for me after all (at least thats the way I choose to see it).

I know you'll just love Columbia! Best of luck in the fall!!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting - if you poke around last year's predents, some folks got very late (i.e. April, March) UNC acceptances.

I am not bitter I am confused. I just don't know what the hell I did wrong. I have acceptable stats, a TON of research, and my interview went well. I just don't know why they don't like me...(I am an attractive person too 😉) so I am just confused and shocked thats all. I mean I haven't even been rejected from a single school yet...well until NOW! I have three acceptances and two waitlist...I just don't understand UNC at all.

The only reason I like UNC is b/c my grandparents called me and told me they will paid for it sinces it's in state and the price is very reasonable. SO going to UNC = no loans for me. BUT I MOST definetly prefer Columbia over UNC overall. Columbia RULES! 😍

Im checking my phone and I have an unknown call at 11:11 am yesterday! Did anyone else receive the acceptance call from an unknown number? im dying now, ill have to wait until monday!! do they update aadsas besides the phone call? do they send emails?
