should i fly back to the philippines to finish vet school? im getting my citizenship(US) in a couple of months and im starting to chicken out. not because of "career choice" but (just being honest) the lifestyle i have here. yes, im so used to the US lifestyle that im having second thoughts of leaving and studying back in the PI. i have never thought of doing anything else other than becoming a veterinarian but there is no way i afford california school tuition. with the economy being so bad that the last thing i need are school debts! i havent slept for days thinking about this and i really want to hear thoughts from foreign vets, US licensed or not.

thanks

How much longer do you have left?!

Seems like you have your answer right there.

i haven't slept thinking about this and i really want to hear thoughts from foreign vets US licensed or not.

Personally, While I know the ECVFG (whatever) is pretty tough, I would cross that bridge when you get to it. Its an extra hurdle, but if you are getting away without the immense debt, I'd go for it!

Also, being Filipino can be a huge advantage to you business wise, if you set up shop in a heavy Philippean (I have NO IDEA how to spell that, and either does Google (why the hell is one an F and the other a P?!?!)) area.

i have 3, maybe 4 more years if they would still credit my first year classes that ive already took 5 years ago. i guess i just got spoiled that im dreading the idea of having to live with crappy internet, hot/humid weather, and deal with narrow minded CONSERVATIVE people(sorry). dont get me wrong, i love the country.. great beaches, food, cheap living, etc. but only if im on "vacation mode". meaning 2-4weeks tops, not 4 years! 🙁

Philippines - the country
Filipino - the people
😉
