I always wondered what look better to medical school, taking an extra semester to gradate undergrad or completing a post secondary program with high marks ?
Do you mean an SMP after graduating? I guess the extra undergrad could help your GPA, but if the SMP has more rigorous classes that are similar to med school, it'd be great to do well in them.

SMPs are for very specific circumstances, namely trying to make up for poor undergraduate grades you could not reasonably rehabilitate by taking more undergrad classes. If you are looking at a single semester of additional work to boost something in your record, and considering that vs an SMP, do the extra semester. Your particular situation is hard to comment on without additional information, so my response is very, very general and might not apply to your situation.
I would imagine they'd both be the same, probably would come down to which would be most enjoyable / financially viable and where you'd prefer to be for half a year.
