Got denied at UW and Hawaii even though I have strong ties to the states, no interview invites anywhere. Waitlisted at VCU and Vermont.

I'm starting to get really nervous, especially since I'm a major underdog. What are your thoughts? Also, where should I go from here preparing for the future if I don't get in this cycle?

I'm sorry, 32T. (11, 11, 10)

Edit: Also, CA resident.

Well, UCs love their own so you're gonna get a little boost there. UW is a reach for anyone unless you're from Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana... regional states that don't have their own medical schools.

Yeah, I kind of knew that, but thought the ties might help. UCs are traditionally harder though... right? Regardless of my in-state status...

I think so. I haven't picked up an MSAR in a while lol.

I suppose I should say you have a better shot than those of us outside the state 😉

Hah so true. I don't have much a shot anywhere so you probably have better odds in CA.
