I'm seeking opinion/advice for my son. We're living in Canada.
Our son has been accepted to Griffith and Flinders Universities for Direct Entry Medicine in Australia. The offer seems almost too good to be true—no UCAT or interview, and a manageable GPA requirement of 5.5/7 for entry into the MD program after two years.
If he doesn’t take this opportunity, he would stay in Canada for his undergraduate studies. That path would require him to achieve a higher GPA, take the MCAT, and do extensive volunteering and research in hopes of applying to medical schools in the US, UK, or the Caribbean, as opportunities in Canada are quite limited.

One of my main concerns is whether he would be able to match into a residency in Canada after completing the six years of study in Australia. We’d love for him to come back here.
2nd option is would he be able to find residency in Australia? As I read, they prioritized their citizen.
It would be beyond terrible if he could not find residency anywhere.
The way I see it, the fact that these two universities accept international students so easily—sometimes even more readily than their own citizens—raises some red flags. It almost feels too good to be true.
