I wasn't sure if something like this had been answered so I'm just going to go ahead and ask.

I'm going to be going in to my junior year of college this fall. Last semester I finally decided I really want to go to medical school, something I've been toying with most of my life. I'm currently a Forensic Psychology major with a minor in Biology. Rather than changing my major I figured it would be most efficient to continue with this major and to pursue a minor in Biology to go along with my prerequisites. I haven't taken any of the science prerequisites yet. This coming semester I'll be taking A&P 1 with lab and Gen Chem 1 with lab, Stats 2 and two psychology courses I need for my major. I realize that I'll be at school an additional year to get these prerequisites taken care of I'm just not sure on how to organize my classes the best way. I don't have any of the coursework done to prepare for the MCAT so I'm not sure when I should take that either. Any advice you all could offer would be so appreciated!

Thank you so much. I'll drop A&P and take Intro Bio instead.

Good choice. A and P is a supplemental course usually used as a GPA booster (depending on the school), but is not needed as a prereq per se.

Although this is the better option, I'm gonna say it really doesn't matter that much. Well at least my sister and I don't think so. I would take whatever fits my schedule best or whatever helps to fulfill your minor along with the intro bios.

Many medical schools now require or strongly biochem; few, if any require A&P. Additionally a bio minor being awarded will have little affect on admissions where as grades/GPA will. Therefore doing well in biochem as a separate course will have more impact than taking A&P as part of a bio minor
Trust me I fully understand that majors or minors don't matter but if OP truly wants to complete a bio minor then I wouldn't advise against it. My main point was that my sister and I didn't necessarily need bio 1 and 2 for our A&P courses. n=2 though.
