I just finished my first semester recently at SF state, and im on break now. I was looking around for jobs during my break and possibly part time on the weekends. However, ive run into a dilemma. I recently got a job offer from a insurance agency to be a life insurance agent, part time. This for me sounded nice at first since they provide the training and the earnings depend on my services. However, i have been volunteering at a gastroenterology lab for a few months and might possibly get a part time job in the future there. I'm unsure of this as all i know is that one person is leaving and the boss will try to find another person to fill the spot, so i can only hope. What do you think? should i atleast do the insurance agent thing for a while and maybe quit later if i get the lab job?

i agree. unless the insurance people are family friends or they are doing you some huge favor by hiring you. if not, work there to get some $ and whatnot, then see about the gastro lab...if the lab doesnt work out, least you still have a job.
