Hi guys, i just have a quick question about my undergrad major. I was wondering if it is a good idea to major in clinical laboratory studies, Bachelors in Medical Technology. I almost have all my required classes done for dental school, need two more physics courses and then I am ready to apply, but don't have a bachelors yet. So basically, i do not expect myself to get in without a bachelors degree, but i will try. If i don't get in i want to finish up one more year to get a B.S in Medical Technology and get a job. How do dental schools view a bachelors in Medical Technology. My prior to this choice was to get a B.S in Biochemistry but i don't see many jobs available. I want something good for backup if i don't get in. So, B.S in Biochemistry or Medical Technology? What would you do?

Your major doesn't really matter much. As long as you take the tough classes at a respectable school then you are solid.
I doubt adcoms will ever be significantly impressed by a certain major.

Hey.

Unless you think you're going to enjoy that major - don't touch it.

It's absolutely raping my science GPA right now as well as my over all GPA. Don't get me wrong - you are going to learn a lot - but I imagine it's sort of difficult to tell an interviewer, "you have no idea the amt of knowledge i've amassed decipte the C+ I had for that class."

My school has one of the best medtech programs and I'm just hating it.

Good luck though.
