Hey!

Ok so here it goes..I know I'm extremely young compared to all of you guys ('07 high school grad!), but this website is extremely helpful as I'm planning on becoming an OD (hopefully!) Next year I'll be starting university and I plan on taking a B.Sc. in microbiology...The only thing is, as I was searching through the site for some info, I noticed most people took a major in biochemistry..Did I make a good choice or will I be completely off track when I apply to optometry school in 3-4 years? Please help me out asap!

Thanks🙂

Assuming you planned on microbiology because of personal interest, you made the best choice. Stick with the major you find interesting and do well. If a major in biochemistry was required for optometry school, I'd be much less enthusiastic about the field.

Biochemistry major? I graduated with a biology major. Like everyone else said, just make sure you get your pre-reqs in.

Exactly, major in something you will enjoy. And take some fun classes too!

Yea, a B.S. in Micro or Biochem doesn't make any difference at all!
