So obviously its easier to get a 4.0 in certain undergrad colleges than it is in other colleges. Do schools take where you went to college into consideration? Ive heard that they inflate / deflate your GPA based on what they rank your school as. Any truth to this?

Of course certain institutions have more clout than others, but ADCOMs are not actually going to adjust you're GPA based on their perception of said institution.

I went to a no-name school and had no issues stemming from that. By and large, your undergrad institution doesn't matter.

I'd just like to point out you also had one of the most ridiculous DAT scores ever. Which probably helped a bit haha.

I agree with both statements above; I don't believe that they'll fault you for having a 4.0 at a school that's not necessarily as well known and somehow deflate your GPA. However, I do think that it's possible that they will give a little leeway for applicants that went to a school with a "reputation" if that applicant had a slightly lower GPA. I don't think that schools would do anything as far as inflating/deflating the GPA's of every applicant based on their undergraduate institution as that would just be ridiculous.

This is why the DAT exist, the equalizer. Separates the people who cruised to high GPAs because of less competitive coursework and probably aren't as qualified from someone who is just as smart but his GPA may not show it.

Agree that UG institution is insignificant. All else being equal, I'd bet that adcoms select the 3.6 from the small no-name liberal arts college over the 3.5 from a well-regarded university.
