Hi. I have received acceptance from three universities- Rutgers,NJ, Drexel and Temple University in majors in Clinical Psychology. I am confused which one I should accept.
Can anybody pls suggest about how the course is at each university. Thank you so much.

Oh, I misread some of that, trying o do too many things at once. They all have good match rates. What's the funding situation at each, and how good is your research/clinical interest match with some of the faculty there?

In Drexel and Temple, I have been offered Honors prog. Funding is pretty ok. But my main concern is about the univ where I would go. Rutgers on one hand with No Honors program , is it a good bet???

I'm a bit confused...you reference PsyD, but also "majors" - which makes me think you are looking at undergrad. Temple does not have a PsyD program to my knowledge and never has. Rutgers has both PsyD and PhD. Drexel I'm not sure.

I somewhat disagree that Rutgers is the hands down winner. Temple has an extremely strong department (Alloy, Kendall, Steinberg, etc.). Rutgers does too of course, really just depends on your focus.

I am assuming this is for undergrad though, in which case it matters much less. I would base my decision on a blend of where I would be happiest and where I would pay the least tuition. All are within roughly the same "tier" as undergrad goes and any distinction is likely to be quite nuanced. None are Harvard-tier, but all will provide solid opportunities. There are probably slightly more opportunities in very close proximity in Philly just due to the sheer number of other institutions very close by...but Rutgers is close to NYC if you are willing to deal with the travel hassles of that experience.

That was a mistake on my part, I was in the middle of doing several things and though the question was Rutgers vs a couple of the more diploma mill schools. Upon re-reading, I'd want to know more about funding and interest match. But like you, I am now confused about if this is for undergrad now.

Hi Ollie123, Its for undergrad.

Oops. Its for undergrad, thats what I meant.

Are you in-state for PA or NJ? I'd vote for wherever you get in-state tuition between Temple and Rutgers. Drexel is certainly a fine choice too, but I strongly suspect has a heftier price tag than in-state tuition would be at either those. Drexel isn't <clearly> a better program, so I would be very hesitant to pay a ton more money.

If you want to go on in the field of psychology, really all that matters is that you pick a strong program, do well in courses and jump into research early on.

Thank you. I am in state for NJ.

Honestly you are comparing apples and apples here for undergrad (i.e., there is no ivy in the mix). I ditto @WisNeuro. All 3 of the schools have strong undergraduate researcher programs. Look at some potential professors and labs to volunteer with at each, and they may help inform your decision if finances are equal at all 3. Honors programs can be helpful, in my opinion, in facilitating connections between professors and students (this was my case at my undergrad in my honors program at a large state school). Honors programs/colleges are by no means a must, though, as long as you have a solid GPA and get some good research experience (1st author posters, maybe even a paper) under your belt before applying for PhD programs.

All three undergrad programs are equally well regarded. Pick the school that will be easiest for you to attend and most likely to lead to undergraduate success.
Step 1: Avoid debt, which school is most affordable (don't forget room and board costs) and cost of living, cost of your commutes home.
Step 2: social connectedness is important for success. Which school will allow to maintain or easily make new friendships and social contacts.

This factors are more important to success than name.
