Does the undergrad school you go to matter? Say someone who goes to UC berkeley, majors in biology and has a 2.5-2.7 gpa still competitive as someone who went to a lesser school? Oh yeah for those considering UC berkeley for undergrad in bio/pre-med,pre-health. don't go here, it will lessen ur chances because ur gpa will suffer.

Undergrad school definately does matter. Berkeley is a great school and the colleges you apply to know that, and as such they will consider your 2.5-2.7 comparable to a higher GPA at lesser universities. I think that you are likely in a fairly good situtation because of this. There are many colleges in the US that are of lower quality than your school and this is where much of your competition is coming from, don't get too worried.

Most people would say it matters. However, I think it’s not that important, as long as you have a good optometric experience and show commitment. I attend a small state school, and it hasn’t affected my chances of getting interviews, or accepted.
