Okay so I've been talking extensivly with the people I work with (at a home health agency) as well with the PT's we hire. But we'll get to that later.
I was thinking about getting my BSN as my required bachelors to get into PT school. After finding there is either 1) a wait list for the program or 2) large tuition for non-wait list private schools, I've decided maybe a BA/BS in psych/nutrition/whatever would be a better choice. My thoughts on the BSN idea was because my company would hire me as a nurse I could work part time and get paid $45 a visit. But Grand Canyon University is one of the only programs that doesn't have a wait list in AZ and tuition and COA for 4 years is 72k. I don't need that. I wanna get through undergrad with nearly no debt if possible. What are your guys' thoughts?
Also I've been struggling with RN vs DPT. With the whole "doctor of pt" thing ringing in my head as a complete and utter berocratic move from bs/ms. As well as, in this shakey time of our country, is it wise to go to PT school and accumulate debt of $150k? I could see myself as a nurse or PT, but it just seems unwise to comit to such a huge hole of debt in such uncertain times. Especially with things like that link OX posted about the debt cieling compromising student loans.
Meh, advice in general would be cool, anyone wanna chip in?
