Undergrade transcripts?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I do not quite understand the logic...maybe it is to make sure you have been a consistently good student. Maybe to look at the diversity of your studies...I can not imagine why they would care.

I am just glad they did not ask for MCAT scores.

i cant remember places that asked for mcats or undergrad transcripts...but i went to med school and undergrad at the same institution, so they wouldnt/couldnt separate my transcripts.

needless to say, people brought up my undergraduate performance (pretty good) and the non-science classes i took.

I got the distinct impression that it was an additional hoop some institutions wanted to place in front of you to see if you were paying close attention to the application process. At Wash U, for example, I didn't read the fine print, didn't send an udergrad transcript, and didn't get an interview.

On the other hand, for Duke, I DID read the fine print, DID send an undergrad transcript...and still didn't get an interview. Whatever.

It would be a stretch to think that your undergrad performance is anything more than parsley to the entree that is your medical school record.
