Hi Im a junior Kinesiology/Pre PT student. Ive been doing a lot of clinical and volunteer work since my freshman year at hospitals and clinics but, Id like to find a paying job that would give me the same or similar experiences I've had since volunteering. Does anyone have any advice as to where to look or what kind of jobs would be available to me as an undergrad.

Thanks!

pt aide. just have to call around and see who's hiring.

I agree with trying to find a pt aide job. Also something to consider would be doing research if the opportunities are available at your school. It looks great on a resume, and I think it will be extremely helpful in preparing me for PT school and especially if I want to do any kind of research in the future. Usually there are scholarships available for research students (everyone I know that works in my lab has received a scholarship) that pay a pretty significant amount especially if you're involved full time in research over the summer. Just another option to think about!

This is really good advice. I wrote research papers in undergrad, but didn't participate in any research. This is something that has come up in several interviews. Having direct research experience is an attractive quality.

It depends on where you live, but I would google "Rehab tech", "Rehab aide", anything along those lines and you should be able to find something. That's how I was able to find a paying Rehab tech job at a hospital in my city.

I would also recommend googling PT clinics in your city and finding a contact email, and just sending an email with your resume. I did that and had a few people email me back, though they were more interested in full-time employment and I was only available part-time. But this could work for you in the summer, if you're able to work full-time.

Otherwise, research jobs are always nice and look great on a resume!
