Hello,
I am an upcoming sophomore, and I am currently looking to find a research position for next year. I have emailed three of my professors asking about their lab availability. The two biology professors I emailed said that their labs were full, but my psychology professor said he would be happy to have me. It should also be said that my psychology professor liked me very much and would be very likely to write me a good letter of recommendation as is. However, I am concerned that researching in psychology as opposed to biology or chemistry may be viewed as a cop out or unrelated. I could fairly easily find a biology research position if necessary but I do genuinely liked my psychology professor and I think his lab sounds interesting.
My major is BS in Biology with minors in Math, Chem, and Neuroscience (which is somewhat related to psychology).
What would be my best course of action at this point? Try to find a more relevant lab to med school or go with the psych lab?
