Out of curiosity, is claiming to be a URM actually checked? Obviously if you're Caucasian and label yourself as African American, then there's a problem... but for example to those who are Filipino's (and are considered Asian), it's very difficult to differentiate between those who are Islanders (e.g. Hawaiians, Samoans, Guam).
And before anyone starts trippin' out, relax, I'm Filipino/Hawaiian/Samoan. I'm not here to start a debate - I'm just sayin that people generally have a difficult time telling the differences between us.
