Yeah, I look forward to attending the school. Should be fun and extremely difficult as all good things in life.

Someone know if you will be residing in Maine, but currently live somewhere else, what steps need to be taken to get a Maine license plate and Driver's License from Maine. I don't want to pay the absurd NYC insurance rate.

Congrats to you guys! Please check out the UNECOM Class of 2011 thread in the Osteopathic forum and introduce yourselves! Can't wait to meet you!

Just go to the Maine DMV and get a new license and registration you have 30 days to do this. However you may not be considered a Maine Resident right away. I spent a good couple of hours on the phone getting this information. Here it is directly from the Maine Secretary of State, Department of Health Insurance:

1) Reside in Maine for 60 Days

AND provide 2 of the following:

1) A signed affadavit that you are a Maine resident
2) A Maine driver's license
3) A permanent dwelling in Maine
4) A passport with Maine address
5) Boaters registration
6) Income tax return that you paid taxes in Maine

Once you have satisfied these criteria you are a Maine resident.

how much would living in maine reduce the cost of insurance? just curious.

The white guy who you met on the Van over to the school, whats up man!!! So you gonna go unecom or not sure yet.

you have to pick up the mail at the post office.

only thing that kept me sane was..
"why the hell would a school pay $4.64 certified mail to give you a rejection letter?

i hope its good news. It was for me.
if so, another new yorker to une! sweet! 👍
