UNECOM online for orgo 1 lab?

Hey all,

Long story short, I interviewed at my dream DO school a few months back, and was told at that time the faculty needed to see my grades in orgo 1 lab and a second pre req I was finishing to make a final decision.

I'm almost finished this pre req course, but still need o chem 1 lab. There are a bunch of course offerings for next spring semester around, but they're either very expensive or a 45 min+ drive away.

Would it be wise to take orgo 1 lab online with UNECOM? It is half as cheap as my most affordable in class option, and it would allow me ot finish it quickly so I can update the adcoms. I checked the pre reqs at this institution and the other two schools I've interviewed at and they were fine with this online pre req.

I also have some MD apps out, a few pre II holds but mostly silence. Considering everything, should I complete this course online or just opt to pay more for an in class lab?

I honestly don’t understand how you can do an orgo lab online it’s not like these chemicals are found in your kitchen and you can just follow along.

That being said My suggestion is to call the school and ask, because any advice we give might be misleading. It’s always best to just call the school, especially if this is your dream school.

Personally I️ would much rather pay a little more to get the hands on experience in a lab.

They 1000% do accept it online through UNECOM.. called and asked this morning. I'm just concerned I'd take it online, then get into a cheaper state MD and not be able to consider that option given having done this pre req online.

I would just do it in-class, for the reasons you mention.

youre much better off taking the lab at a local CC imho
