I was just browsing Scutwork.com and I saw an unmatched Neurosurgery residency spot at UCSD. How is this possible?

Neuro can be unmatched from what I saw quite often because of the way the alsgorhytm works. The question is how fast did they fill it after match results were announced. My .02 it flew away in a matter of "seconds".

My 2 cents? It was likely filled outside of the match or not offered although certainly NRMP algorithm vagaries cannot be discounted!
