I know there are a million of these posts/threads and I have tried going through some but I feel like every situation is unique. This site has helped me out so much and I am hoping people here who have any insight will share their opinion/wisdom. I just took the June 2, 2015 DAT today and I expected much higher scores considering I usually score higher on Bootcamp/Kaplan practice tests and I completed DAT destroyer twice. I am a really bad test-taker and if you are wondering, yes I do everything: I practice full test in "test-taking environments" and try not to psych myself out and all that jazz, but it's not that easy for someone like me haha. I know if I took it again in September I can get much higher scores just because I will have more time to study since I won't have to study for my graduate classes.

A little background: I graduated from Emory University in May 2014 with a B.S. in Anthropology in Human Biology. My science and overall GPA are low, ~ 3.2/3.3 because of a lot of diff things I explain in my ps. Also got Dean's list my senior year at Emory. The following August 2014, I started Columbia's School of Public Health to get my Masters in Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases. I just completed my first year, and I would really like to go straight to dental school after I get my Master's degree next year. I have a lot of health care experience/shadowing.

So I am unhappy with my DAT scores but i do want to apply this cycle. I was wondering if I should just apply with these scores by July or take them again after 90 days in September and apply later. If I apply in September, I can submit my ADA application in August and then have my September scores sent to the schools since it takes ADA a really long time to process right? However, I know timing is everything with dental schools and September is later so I just wanted to know what you guys would do if you were in my situation. I would really appreciate some opinions just because I am in a rough place right now.

So basically my scores:
PAT 19
QR 18
RC 21
Biology 18
GC 18
Orgo 22
TS 19
AA 19

PAT of 9? Is this a typo?
If not.....you definitely need to retake.

Well if it helps I got a 20/20/24 (AA/TS/PAT) with my lowest being a 19 in QR and mostly everyone I have asked says applying early is a better idea (my GPA is higher than yours though). Also keep in mind the average accepted is 20...

SDN is helpful, but the best thing to do is to call the schools and ask them. Thats what I did. Good luck!
