Unique circumstance, advice needed!!

Posting behalf of fellow predent student. He has a unique situation, GPA=2.2 on ADSAS application this is due to pervious university attend. He is currently at different school in which he will graduate December with 3.7 honors and top of his class. He has applied to multiple schools with, application includes: 300+ shadowing hours, orgo research, 1500+ volunteer hours, also had a sibling graduate dental school. If not this cycle what advice could be given to help him matriculate next cycle?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
