When was it sent?! I didn't get the email.

EDIT: Can you just paste the email?

I got it:

Greetings from the University of Michigan Medical School. We
appreciate your continued interest in completing your medical education
in Ann Arbor. With the passing of the May 15 national signing date our
next entering class is taking shape. Having reviewed our matriculation
data we believe we will have some waitlist activity. We do not
anticipate the size or frequency of this activity will be known until
mid-June. Likewise, we do not believe we will have any waitlist
activity until mid-June. We are grateful you are keeping Michigan in
mind and will keep you posted with any new information. Best wishes,
RFR

Thats weird, I never got anything like that either and I'm still on the waitlist.

out-of-state, top tier...for what it's worth

Hmmm, that email is kind of mysterious. Maybe it could have been sent to only specific demographics that they're going to be short of in their class. ie. Out-of-state females who play the violin or male varsity athletes from in-state schools or whatever. Maybe it's just by their "score" that everyone's been assigned. All I know is I'm not on the list that recieved them (middle tier, in-state, male) 🙄

Im top tier and never got the letter either. i have heard that they are way over accepted and will not be taking the normal number off the list. I'm guessing its going to be two more weeks before anyone hears. 🙁

I have bad news for anyone hoping to go to Michigan. Word has it that UM will not be accepting anyone from the waitlist this year. Apparently they are over-accepted and they have had few, if any, declined spots. This looks like it may be a hellish year for the Michigan waitlist, and even if you are on the high tier, it may not make a difference. Though they said they would be making calls in mid-June, it doesn't look like anything will be heard until perhaps July (if at all).

I've got some more bad news (for me at least 🙁 ) Just checked my status page and learned I got dropped from the waitlist. On one hand, nice to know, on the other, well everyone makes mistakes, even admissions committees. G'luck to the rest of ya'll :luck:

Could you tell us which wait list tier you were on? Thanks, and I'm really sorry 🙁

sorry to hear that, man. that should not be the way people find out. umich needs to re-examine their use of the status page.

I was on the middle or second tier, I don't remember what they actually called it. It seems like a bummer of a year to be on the waitlist. A second year friend of mine (who was involved in some capacity with the committee) had said in the past that "most" of the first tier, "some" of the second, and a "few" of the third tier people get picked off the list. But then this year comes along and I heard directly from Dr. Remick a couple of weeks ago that "they do not expect much waitlist movement this year". Must have been all those fleeces they sent out 🙄 I'll keep my fingers crossed for those of you who are still hanging on :luck:

Dark days for Michigan waitlisters. Sigh, why can't more people drop? What makes this year so different?

Bad news guys - I talked to the admissions people yesterday and was told that IF any spots open up at all, it will be in mid to late july, and they expect VERY few, if any, spots to become available.
