I Graduated high school in 2004 went off to a community college with no idea on what career field was going to do. So I started out with a business half way through I was really intrerested in Pharmacy so thats my goal. My goal obviously is to get into 1 of the two PharmD schools in Florida Nova or UF. I would appreciate any advice or help. I am going to work for a pharmacy for the experience as a tech. Is getting my prerequisites at a community college a bad idea?? I just registered for next semester for Chemistry and my economics.

it doesnt matter where you take them...just get them done! and with good grades!

I think it looks a lot better to take your pre-reqs at a university especially the chemistry and it will also better prepare you for the pharmacy curriculum. Think about you'll be going to school with people who may already have their bachelors or more and so they'll have obviously have taken university level classes. Why start off at a disadvantage.?

As for the english, public speaking, history type stuff I would take those at a community college and save your money but take the sciences at a university...just my opinion

There are people in my class from community college. In my school's case, it didn't seem to matter where you got your grades if your PCAT is there to back it up. The admission committees want to know that you can perform at their level. Give them all the evidence they need.

Get good grades, get a pharmacy job and good luck!

I went to a CC for all my pre-reqs and I haven't felt behind in pharmacy school at all. I think your main priority, as has been said before, is to complete the pre-reqs and do well in them! You just want to make sure that your CC will be accepted to the pharmacy schools you are looking to apply.
Good luck!
