I just posted a question about semester hours but I have one more question. I am currently in the process of getting my BSc in General Science at UBC. My gpa is not very high so I'm hoping to redo some classes and maybe get a BA in psychology (which will take me about 2 years) to increase my gpa. I am wanting to do my second degree at Kwantlen Polytechnical University. Do universities (spefically Pacific) care where you get your degree from? Kwantlen used to be a college and just became a university a couple years ago and offers only a few number of degrees. Thanks!

hello,

i'm not sure about Pacific, but a few schools definitely discriminate between universities and colleges. i think a few of the opto schools even have a list of universities that they regard more highly than others.

Thanks for the reply! But I guess I was wondering whether Kwantlen would be an okay choice since it has now been granted full university status and is no longer a college anymore? I'm wondering because I'm interested in the BA in pysch degree.

Call the school to get a real solid answer. On here we would just be speculating, so to be sure just give Pacific a call and ask!

I think as long as it's an accredited college that's all that matters. I did all my prereqs at a community college and had no problems. Unless Kwantlen is an online college then I don't see why there should be problems, but like the other poster mentioned it's probably best to ask Pacific directly.
