My university recently found me responsible for giving alcohol to minors and gave me sanctions shown on my record. Should I give up on going to med school at this point?

dang not even underage, but minors? smh.

No minors as in 18-20 years old.

5 minors, provided it at a party, it happened once and the sanction was university suspension.

Man, it must be IA season.

Ask the school of this will go on your transcript. If this was a big party whose attendance you weren't policing, this might not be so egregious depending on the circumstances, but you're going to need to know if it goes on the transcript. Did you know these people were minors?

For starters, you're going to have to own this one.

I honestly don't know how enabling underage ranking will sit with Adcoms. The ray of hope is that even DUI can be forgiven. We were all young and stupid once.

I figure it'll be dependent on how OP actually got into this situation. For example, if they were random people he didn't know at his party where he was serving alcohol, that might be a more forgivable form of youthful irresponsibility than if he knew the people in question, knew they were minors and served them alcohol anyway hoping to get away with it.

So you hosted a party at which 5 underage drinkers obtained alcohol and you were suspended for a period of time. That's pretty much the story. You broke the law and the school rules and behaved in an irresponsible way although you were old enough to know better. You are going to need to own this, admit that you knowingly broke the rules( in an attempt to be host an enjoyable social event ??) you realize that what you did was illegal and had the potential to be dangerous for those involved and you learned a diffcult lesson about the responsibilities that go along with adulthood. As @Goro says, you have to hope that the adcom can recall being young and stupid themselves and cuts you some slack.
