Does anyone have any insights into a more exact 3rd list date than "middle of March" ?? I know they say "on or about March 15", but from the experience of someone who has applied more than once, it is never "on or about" the day they say.. in fact it is often a week or more off..

i spoke to the admissions office on monday and all they would say is "middle of march" 🙄

i remember reading somewhere that last year they notified around the 7th? something like that anyway. maybe a current student could enlighten us?

The first two rounds this year have been a few days earlier than what is stated on U of A's website. Also, I thought schools have to have offered a number of acceptances equal to the class size by March 15. It doesn't seem like you should have to wait any longer than March 15, unless you are going to be rejected or waitlisted, which you would find out later.


"Notification of action by the Admissions Committee. In January 2004, the Admissions Committee will begin to take action on applicants whose files are complete. Letters of acceptance will be mailed on or about January 31, February 15 and March 15, 2004, or the first working day thereafter. Notification of alternate or rejection status is sent on or before March 31 each year."

Yeah that's right, they send out your rank on waitlist or rejection on or before March 31st.

For those of us who haven't had any news, the UA office is sending the alternate list out by email on Monday. They said they have 54 people on it, so the odds look good. Last year 41 people from the list got in, so I've got my fingers crossed🙂

I am on the alternate list! I am so excited. Now I just have to wait to April 1st to find out my spot. I hope they take a lot of people from it this year.

I talked to a current student and he says that they have not ranked the waitlist as of yet. I was wondering - for those of you who are also in this situation - do you think it's appropriate to send a letter of intent at this point to maybe help our chance of getting a better ranking?

last year sdner's updated as news became available about the current numbers...according to my email, they have already offered acceptances to the first five on the waitlist!

per the admissions office, they are on #6 of the waitlist! that's only one more person in the last two weeks...so, hopefully things will pick up soon!
