I am currently in the middle of the application process, applying from the USA but with UK citizenship. I am debating whether to use the VMCA application or UCAS application process. I received a Bachelors in Animal Science in the US in 2018, but my GPA is only 2.9. My High School GPA is a 3.4 and I could possibly use college courses as supplemental "APs" in conjunction with my high school diploma.
Does anyone have any experience using the VMCA application or UCAS? Or know who I could ask?

Hey guys, I'm kind of confused on Bristol's supplemental application. Is there one to submit, if so, where is the link?

Last year, they only had an SAQ (supplementary assessment questionnaire), but they didn't send that out until after the VMCAS and UCAS cycles closed. Not everyone gets it either, just the ones that meet the minimum requirements 🙂

I got the SAQ too! Does anyone know if it is timed for each question, also can you save and come back to it another day or does it have to be done all in one sitting?

thanks! So does that mean you have to leave the tab open or you have to restart each time?

Hey guys, I have an issue with my SAQ where my full essay won't paste into the text box. It says to restrict yourself to 1,000 words yet my essay is at about 700. Anybody else experiencing this?

Try rewriting in the text. Sometimes what Microsoft word says is 700 is not equivalent to the text box of an application. Best luck.

Did you guys get a confirmation email after submitting the SAQ? I didn’t get anything confirming it was submitted

I got a rejection from Bristol this morning too. I also applied to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham and Dublin (all through UCAS except Dublin). Trying not to be totally discouraged...

my stats:
- Canadian
- 3rd year health sci undergrad student (GPA 3.64) - thinking this is why I got a rejection from Bristol? Cause I haven't finished undergrad?
- 1 year pre-health sci college program (GPA 3.7)
- 2000+ hours of veterinary experience, mostly large and a few hundred small

HI everyone - First of all, good luck to everyone!

Looking for feedback - I have applied to Bristol and wanted to get feedback on the school and how it compares to Edinburgh and Dublin. Many thanks in advance!

Congrats, what time did you hear back!? I am on pins and needles. I emailed them about an update on my application yesterday and I haven't heard back.

I wholeheartedly regret that I did not apply this cycle anywhere but my IS. Keep us updated on the process of moving to the UK and all the red tape involved if you can so that I can plan adequately for next cycle! <3

Does anyone know if they send out acceptances as they evaluate us, or do they evaluate all the applications and then send out rolling acceptances? (I hope this makes sense)

I am unaware, the only thing I know 100% they do not make decisions quickly, they give each applicant an equal chance.

Seems they are working through applicants faster this time around. Last year acceptances were in waves I think 3-4 of them. A lot of people also got placed on hold early on and didn’t hear until much later into dec-Jan-Feb

do you remember roughly in between each wave was? I don't. They also had a zoom meeting back in September after they sent out SAQ and it was to go over it, they did say the deadlines this year are different and that they aim to make most decisions by Christmas. I am really hoping this is my year.

What does “hold” entail? Like a waitlist?

I don’t remember exactly but it was super sporadic last year like it seemed truly as if there was no rhyme or reason for anything. Hopefully that means this year is more organized and straightforward!!! hoping this is your year 🩷🩷

How do we know if we’re on hold? Will they send an email?
