This thread is for discussing applications to Bristol Veterinary School at the University of Bristol in the 2024-2025 cycle.
I am currently in the middle of the application process, applying from the USA but with UK citizenship. I am debating whether to use the VMCA application or UCAS application process. I received a Bachelors in Animal Science in the US in 2018, but my GPA is only 2.9. My High School GPA is a 3.4 and I could possibly use college courses as supplemental "APs" in conjunction with my high school diploma. This thread is for discussing applications to Bristol Veterinary School at the University of Bristol in the 2024-2025 cycle.
Last year, they only had an SAQ (supplementary assessment questionnaire), but they didn't send that out until after the VMCAS and UCAS cycles closed. Not everyone gets it either, just the ones that meet the minimum requirementsHey guys, I'm kind of confused on Bristol's supplemental application. Is there one to submit, if so, where is the link?

It was one of the schools I really wanted last year. I got rejected end of February. Trying so hard this year! Best of luck 🩷You’re amazing, thank you for the help!
I did!Anyone else get an invite to complete the SAQ this morning?
I did tooAnyone else get an invite to complete the SAQ this morning?
Awesome! So did I. I am so nervous, I did the SAQ last year, and I was put on hold from December until February, then rejected on 02.28.2024. It killed my spirit for a couple of months... But it also motivated me to apply to all UK schools.I did too
I did!
Not timed. You don’t need to do it all at once but it does not save.I got the SAQ too! Does anyone know if it is timed for each question, also can you save and come back to it another day or does it have to be done all in one sitting?
I keep it on the tab, but I don’t keep it on my browser with everything else. I minimise it when I’m not working on it but I keep it open the whole time.thanks! So does that mean you have to leave the tab open or you have to restart each time?
I'd safely think 11:59 PM UK time, but I might be completely wrong. Is there a specific time to submit SAQ on the 8th?
Nothing yetAnyone hear from Bristol yet?
No. They also never did last year.Did you guys get a confirmation email after submitting the SAQ? I didn’t get anything confirming it was submitted
Nothing yet for meAnyone gotten rejections/acceptance from Bristol recently? I haven’t heard anything.
Congrats!! Did you apply through UCAS or VMCAS?got an acceptance from Bristol this morning!!!
VMCAS!Congrats!! Did you apply through UCAS or VMCAS?
me too. I've had a crappy couple weeks. I need some good news :'(Oh my gosh congrats guys!! I hope to hear soon.
I got the email at 4:43am EST. Hoping you hear back soon from them!Congrats, what time did you hear back!? I am on pins and needles. I emailed them about an update on my application yesterday and I haven't heard back.
I am unaware, the only thing I know 100% they do not make decisions quickly, they give each applicant an equal chance.Does anyone know if they send out acceptances as they evaluate us, or do they evaluate all the applications and then send out rolling acceptances? (I hope this makes sense)
do you remember roughly in between each wave was? I don't. They also had a zoom meeting back in September after they sent out SAQ and it was to go over it, they did say the deadlines this year are different and that they aim to make most decisions by Christmas. I am really hoping this is my year.Seems they are working through applicants faster this time around. Last year acceptances were in waves I think 3-4 of them. A lot of people also got placed on hold early on and didn’t hear until much later into dec-Jan-Feb
Basically. They typically put people on hold until the decision is made. I got put on hold last December and rejected in FebruaryWhat does “hold” entail? Like a waitlist?
I don’t remember exactly but it was super sporadic last year like it seemed truly as if there was no rhyme or reason for anything. Hopefully that means this year is more organized and straightforward!!! hoping this is your year 🩷🩷do you remember roughly in between each wave was? I don't.
