University of Chicago vs northwestern?

Hello all,

I have heard mixed things about these programs but would love some insight on how they compare! Specifically in terms of research and clinical independence as a resident - my goal is cardiology eventually and would like adequate clinical experience as well as research support to perform and match appropriately.
Members don't see this ad.
 
UChicago's IM program is one of the best in the country. I think Northwestern is stronger in surgical specialties.

Is there somewhere youve seen this info? Just looking to read up on it in addition to hear peoples opinions
 
On Doximity internal medicine rankings Northwestern is ranked a few spots above UChicago. Not sure what the significant of that is, if indeed there is any - the difference appears minimal.
