Just wanted to see how Futurdent, Flint1242, and Hienchan's interviews went. Nobody's posted any feedback or comments... hope all went well.

jb sorry i couldn't share much info with you after my interview last friday. i was too busy with work and everything else. anyhow, congratz on your interview. i'm glad it went well for you. mine went pretty smooth too. I had Dr. Sposetti, a professor, and a student interviewed me. They all were very interested during the interview. Well, let's hope for good news in dec.👍

I just wanted to say that I completly agree with the post that said after each question that was answered, they just sat there and looked at you. The same thing happened to me, and at first it kinda un-nerved me, but then I would just keep on talking, b/c that's what I thought they wanted. Oh well, I was really impressed by the interview though. I just can't wait till dec 1st!!!!

Hey! Another Gator-to-be! So the interview was impressive, huh? That's good to hear -- I'm heading over there on Thursday and couldn't be more nervous.

Question, when did you send them your supplemental?

I actually didn't send in my supplemental till the begining of Oct, even though my interview was in early August. I figured it didnt really matter when I had it in as long as it was before November, b/c thats when the Adcom meets. I wanted to be sure that I had a killer essay so I took some more time with it Good luck with the interview, as long as you can know to expect the long pauses, the interview is great! and although Dean Sposetti is intimidating, she is super nice. GOOD luck!!

i agree with that. Dr. Sposetti was very intimidating at my interview.

It was very stressful and I didn't feel like anything I conjured up as a response was satisfactory. Not to mention one of the interviewer's cell phone went off and another interviewer was litterally STARING at the clock. I was very stressed...

Oh man that's pretty rough about the cell phone! I am really glad that we have this forum going b/c it is a great relief to hear that they do the same thing to everyone else. When I walked of the interview I was so shakey b/c I couldn't tell one way or the other if they really wanted me!

How many people did you guys have interviewing with you? I had about 12 i think, and it was at the very beginnnig of Aug, so I wanted to see if they have been pretty consistant with the amount of students they interview per day.

ps- we are one day closer to Dec 1st!!

haha!!!! i think i had the same prof. in my interview. middle-aged w/ brown/gray hair? he didn't say a word to me and acted completely uninterested until he found out i was a pilot! man, i want UF so bad!! dec 1st....t-minus 1 month 4 days 🙂

Noone wants to go to UF more than me, haha... This is my 2nd time applying to dental school and so far UF is the only place to interview me. I've been waiting a long time. I WANT TO GET IN DAMNIT! haha, sorry... i'm just sick of waiting

Dr. Sposetti said "sometime in November" but I'd imagine it would be towards the end of the month. Last year, people received calls first thing on Dec 1st with acceptances.

Yea... i can't remember Sposetti saying any actual dates other than November. I've heard they do call you at like 6am on Dec. 1st. I just hope i can get my ass up in time to pick up the phone... i NEVER wake up that early. And if they do call that early, I'll be going back to bed afterwards... hopefully I'll remember that they called after i wake up again, haha

i'll confirm that acceptances come in the form of a phone call. i think it's really cool actually...if i see a 352 area code on dec 1st imma go CRAZYYYYY!!! 🙂

I only had 1 dentist fill out the form... I had 3 other dentists write letters.

As part of the secondary. They're optional but I'm sure very highly recommended.

I have not heard one single person say that they "hate" the program, and I do not know of anyone that is planning on transfering.

This is what i figured. Pedro also posted on another UF thread about how he called them up and his chances of getting in are looking good. It seems he just wants to try and clear up some seats so there will be room for him.

I am trying to do all that I can! I am retaking the DATs at then end of this month, finished up my research, and added lots of shadowing/volunteer time. I hope thats enough to get accepted rather than waitlisted. Dmonee, were you waitlisted last year? Also, ChronarchB, what have you been up to? 🙂 good luck all!!!

I retook my DATs... did a lot better in the sciences...graduated from my m.s. in biomedical sciences, started a one year MBA program, shadowing a UF alum and his associates (1 UF, 1 Nova, 1 Ohio State). Who knows if any of that will help, UF is so damn competitive.

I was flat out rejected last year... was told that it was because of my DATs

good luck guys! i really wanted to reapply this cycle too, but i decided to wait a year. i want to make sure that i have a lot more to offer the next time around. like higher gpa's, DAT scores, more volunterring/shadowing hrs, and hopefully better LORs. again, i wish you guys the best of luck! and don't ever give up!

I submitted my app about 2 weeks ago, so once things start rolling I will let everyone know how things are🙂 JB good luck in d-school, I can tell just by communicating on here that you are going to make a great dentist. I got my interview invite today!! Im so psyched! and nervous also, its on tuesday!! I only have 5 days to get ready! I wasnt expecting any interviews this early, I submited my application the 31st of august! any one else interviewing on the 25th???

its good to see some ole dental students still checking in on the "still need to get into UF" threads . goodluck to all this year! seems like a lot of us are re-applicants since UF didn't love us as much as we loved them last year. 👎boo.
