Yet another post about online Biochem..
I started and have commented on a few other threads about taking online Biochem BUT those were pertaining to different schools.

I wanted to ask now if anyone has heard anything about University of Florida's Distance Biochem class? I'm in need of an online Biochem (other than UC Berkeley as everyone has said that is a horrible class) that is not on a rigid schedule i.e. I can register and finish it on my own time and not specifically when the school's semester starts and ends as I would like to finish it before I take the new MCAT in April.

Any input would be great! Thanks

Don't have any information on this course but I have used there materials to help me study for my biochem class and it's really helpful.

Which materials did you use? The professors lectures or notes?

Is there a link? 🙂
There is a bunch of good stuff from there. Besides KHAN which has a ton of good biochem video's and moof UF has good vids also. Here is an example: (electron transport system btw)
Fatty acid synthesis video:
Ketogenesis:
Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex: (converting pyruvate to acetyl coa to enter TCA cycle)
isoelectric point:
G protein coupled receptors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RHQ2Kol1ac
Beta oxidation of fatty acids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmfeF1DUTOM

They got a bunch of good stuff here also: http://teachingcenter.ufl.edu/resources/

But yea. This is helping me out alot.

Here is the Khan videos:

But yea judging by how helpful UF is i would think there courses would be good. It just looks like they are supportive. I would guess its the best bet judging by how much people hate berkley and une biochem. Biochem is just a tough course though so no surprise people don't like there courses. These resources I posted are great though!
