Hey everyone, I recently got accepted into both Pitt and UMB and am having quite the time trying to make a decision. I know they're both very solid schools, which doesn't make the decision much easier. I was hoping for some input from current students about what you like/dislike about either school or even other applicants about what you found appealing or appalling about either place as I didn't have too much time to explore either place when I was there for interviews. I am thinking that I would want to go in the clinical direction so I'm not entirely sure if one school or the other is better in that sense. Also, I'm just curious about the differences in terms of daily schedule, how much free time students have to do things other than to go to class, eat, study, and maybe sleep. Thank you so much for your help in advance!

i'm not a current student, so I won't weigh in on which school is better, although I interviewed in 3 other places and absolutely fell in love with UMB.

one thing though, have you considered the costs of education and living? you should definitely consider those as well!

Congrats on that! They're both good programs, tight-knit student bodies, and have excellent clinical opportunities...

I don't suppose you've considered just labelling half a dartboard with Maryland and 1/2 Pitt, and then just tossing a dart blindfolded?

I interviewed at Pitt and was very impressed by their program. They have a strong affiliation with UPMC, which is probably one of the best systems in the state. The only reason I am not attending Pitt is that I can live rent free in Florida less than a block from the beach.

I am not too familar with Maryland's program, but my co-worker's brother goes there and loves it! I guess you can't go wrong with either school.
