Hi,

I was wondering if anyone got a letter from UMD stating that they haven't decided on acceptance, rejection, or waitlist? I'm curious if this means if anyone knows? When will they make the decision? Thanks

I got the same letter a few weeks ago...I think its the equivalent of a post-interview hold category. They've reviewed our files but haven't made a decision yet.

I *hope* it means that once a few more completed applications get in to the admissions they'll re-review our files and we'll get a positive correspondence. During my interview Dr. Foxwell told us that there was a 15% increase in apps...so they may just be waiting for more applications so that they can review a large number at once.

One of my friends received that letter... i think it means that they like you but maybe they're not sure if you'll actually attend... or maybe they have a few reservations about you.

At any rate, it's not a rejection. So you could still get an acceptance. I'm assuming they will make a decision after they have interviewed all of the other applcants.

I know someone asked this question before. You should search one of the UMD threads... a bunch of us have been posting questions on there.
