Hey Guys,
This is my first post in the dental forum, as I have stuck to the pre-dental forum up to this point. Anyways I was wondering if anyone at Michigan or anyone planning on attending Michigan has any information on the student research program. I have been looking through potential mentors and I have found some of their research to be very interesting, expanding on my interest and curiousity from working with an oral surgeon for 2 years. My main question is whether students would advise to wait and plan on doing research D2 or D3 year as a D1 will be settling into such a new lifestyle or if they think a D1 can handle the experience. Also any experience with the programs (pros AND cons) would help me out.
Thanks in advance.

good question man, I would also like to hear some responses. For now, my plan is to see what D1 is like and start research next summer.

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this topic.

Doing the research program the summer after D1 year is probably the best time. That is when some of my class mates did it.
