The University of Missouri, Kansas City OMS program has a non-categorical intern level position available starting immediately for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Non-categorical interns function as 1st year residents, except they do not participate in the anesthesia rotation, nor do they perform IV sedations in the clinic. Interns will run the outpatient clinic 5 days per week, round in the morning, manage inpatients, take no more than 7 in-house calls per month, and participate in weekly lectures and monthly journal club meetings.
The position provides excellent exposure to the full scope OMS practiced at the UMKC OMS program.
-High volume of facial trauma (mandible, ZMC, orbital floor, frontal sinus, NOE, etc.)
-1-5 orthognathics per month
-All parapharyngeal infections
-Benign pathology
-Tracheostomies
-TMJ with arthroscopy/arthrocentesis and replacement
