Anyone have any information on UNE's OT program?

I haven't had a chance to visit the campus yet due to being out-of-state, and I was curious as to what the campus/professors/current students are like.

Any feedback would be helpful!

Congrats! I'm in the same boat. I haven't visited Nova Southeastern university yet and still need to do that sometime in May. I'm from California and the school is in Florida! You should check out the school 1 or 2 months in advance to get a feel of the school! Hope you like it there!

You can find some of the current students on the website and subsequently on facebook. Try shooting them a message regarding these questions you've posted.

Hi,

Eight years ago I was interested in OT and had my bachelors in another area, but didn't have many of the pre-reqs and applied for their BS-to-MS program (which may no longer exist.) In the end I decided it was way too long and expensive and made no sense for me, and I went on to get another masters in the field in which I was working. Now I'm interested in OT again, have taken the prereqs, and am applying to masters programs.

Anyway, I was impressed by UNE's main campus. I am from Maine and attended an "elite" private liberal arts college, and had high standards. I can't say the architecture of UNE's man campus was all that wonderful... pretty much run of the mill brick buildings. But, that campus (which used to be the home of the OT dept.) is on the ocean, and I was impressed by their science facilities.

OT is now housed in the old Westbrook College campusin Portland. The campus is a cute and compact traditional New England college campus, with historic red brick buildings. I'm used to that environment, and I like it, although I went to grad school in a major city and so that is my preference. But downtown Portland is a GREAT place. Very lively, great restaurant scene, great arts scene on the ocean, with a working waterfront.

The downside to me is the price... it's crazy expensive if you have to borrow for it, and you already have other loans (or really, even if you have no other loans.)

I don't know any current students, but I know some past students. It seems like everyone is pretty nice and down-to-earth and professors are accessible.

thanks so much for the feedback!
