Has anyone on this forum applied to the PT program at University of North Texas? I applied early decision and am wondering when the program starts notifying applicants whether they will be interviewed/waitlisted/interviewed/denied?

Any information or advice would be great! Thanks!

Hello! I applied to UNT as well, and they already called me about setting up an interview with them. I declined it, though.

I applied as well but haven't heard anything back from them. I will let you know if I do hear something though.

Good luck to you.

did UNT finally get its accredidation as a DPT program?? or is it suppose to be in the coming year or years??

UNT won't be accredited until just before the first class graduates, which will be next spring.

I applied to UNT as well, but I have not heard anything. I will let you know if i do!

Good luck to everyone who has applied and is waiting to hear!

How does the notification process usually work with rolling admissions? Do they usually have a preference of who they want to interview first then hand out interviews to other students later?

I have an interview this Friday. Any idea what to expect for the interview process?

Would you mind sharing any tips from the interview this week? I hope it went well for you!

I was very impressed by the program and staff at UNT. They truely care about that student's success. The interview process was very informative and relaxed. I enjoyed it a lot. If you get invited to an interview do not stress yourself out. Some of the questions were difficult, but I think they were just trying to get to know you as a person

I applied very early at UNT DPT when the application opened in May but have heard nothing. I forgot to mention I just completed my last two prereqs last December. Tried to correspond with the admission advisor but she was not of much help. I do not know how much chance I have to secure admission there. Below are my stats and any advice will be appreciated.

Prereqs GPA - 4.00/4.00
Last 60 hours GPA - 3.45/4.00
undergrad GPA - 3.1
PT Observation - 90 hours
Healthcare experience - 3000 hours

My first degree was actually in Engineering and that's why my GPA suffered. I wish I did something different.

abasimike - did you ever hear from UNT?

Their last interview day was Feb 24th.

Does anyone have any thoughts on their accreditation status? I know all programs start out this way, but is it worth the risk?
Or for those who have visited did the campus show how much potential their program has?!

Thanks! 🙂

I applied and didn't get in. They sent me a rejection letter last week, but honestly I'm glad. They seem disorganized... I sent in my application in October and did not hear from them AT ALL until they sent me a rejection letter. Turns out, the check I sent for my application fee wasn't received and they did not even inform me I was missing anything until they rejected me. I have good stats, so I know it had nothing to do with that. I applied to two other schools in Texas who would follow up with everything and at least let me know if I was missing anything. Sorry if this sounds bitter, I just get fed up with disorganized schools or schools who show no interest in you as an applicant. 👎

I got a rejection letter a few weeks ago, but I am not surprised as I was still completing some pre-req's and did not have many volunteer hours at the time. Has anyone heard yet whether or not they got accepted?

Also, I sent a reply letter asking them to evaluate my application to find out what parts of my application were weak for when I reapply next year, did anyone else do this as well?

TxDPT14 - I completely understand, it is nice when a school treats as you as just an applicant.

I have had several schools who don't care about notifying you about anything - UNT is not the only one. Virginia Commonwealth made me wait almost 5 months before they sent me a rejection letter (they don't offer interviews). However, as an applicant it is also our job to follow up with them. I followed up with every school to make sure they received all my documents. They are dealing with over 1,000 application after-all.
Texas Womens for instance showed me denied on their online forum I could view but waited a month to send me a letter. That was sure nice of them.

I visit North Texas soon. I'm expecting a nice campus since it is in the medical building. We shall see :xf:🙂
