Hi,

Did any one hear from University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine? I applied there a long back but did not hear from them yet. Thanks.

they only sent me an email saying that they will start reviewing applications starting from the wee of SEP 14, and they will let us know if there were anything missing.. :S

I emailed them a week ago and they answered that they are still processing applications and it is very time consuming. so they don't know what time they are conducting interviews.. but i think they are already busy with the interviews for the 4 years dds. And since the international dentist isn't a seperate program so probably it is the same admission comittee. Maybe we have to wait until they are done with what they are doing now

Hi dear SDNers,

My one of friends had an interview experience at Univeristy of Pittsburgh two years back, she did not get selected (now sooner going to be a BU graduate) however, she replied me back with following stuff, hope that helps :::

1) Personal interview: one on one, well organized, highly professional, time: 40-45 minutes, very common questions, they want to know you better (same like other schools!)

2) Practical exam : [Time limit: four hours, Five exercises]
- tooth # 7, class-III
- tooth #14, Metal-Ceramic preparation
- tooth #28, class-II
- tooth #30, prepared tooth, only Amalgam filling to be performed on the already prepared tooth
- Rubber dam application on tooth #21

3) Overall feelings: she got amazed with the school response. In her opinion, the school treated all invited candidates like Doctors. They try best to bring the experience as comfortable as possible. Relax and be yourself.

Caution: she told me that she's not sure if the system is changed at University of Pittsburgh, so ain't I. I don't know personally how the system works at University of Pittsburgh but I request you folks to make sure through as many sources as possible. You have enough time to know the system well enough.

No, I personally don't have any idea about the program neither I know someone who is studying at Pittsburgh, however my friend had a pleasing experience with the school during interview. Hope that helps, good luck

I learned that Upittsburgh program is awesome and has good reputation.
My BU friend told me few days back that she had good experience with school but unfortunately couldn't get into it. I would suggest to visit the school once to get clear idea about the program. Hope that helps!

Did you send in your 100$ check? They had to have it in the office by last week I think - or the end of this one, not sure.
You should give her a call, I e-mailed them a while back and never got a reply..
