You'll find out that many schools require a passport-like photo. Go to your local CVS or Walgreen's if you have none already, to get that 2" x 2" face shot. I personally did mine myself using one of the many websites out there that scale it and everything with the help of my camera, then printed it at the CVS or Walgreen's nearby. Some ask for you to email it, and others ask for you to bring a copy to the interview to post in your file.

For Pittsburgh you can just email it by the way.
 
When I applied, I asked one of my parents who has a kind of decent DSLR camera to take a photo of me and then took it to CVS and printed out there, I believe. It cost like $2 for 10-15 of them. But if you don't have someone who can take a photo of you, just go to CVS or whatever and get a passport photo, as others suggested.
 
I dressed up semi-formally, went to my local CVS and had a 2x2 taken. Also sent my check in that day. Went back home, scanned it and emailed it to the school. I got an email this morning saying both the check and the photo were received.

How long ago did you send in your check? Just curious on how long it takes for them to receive it and let people know. Thanks!

I sent mine a week ago too, but it wasn't processed yet. Has anyone's check/money order been processed yet?
 
Ugh. Due to a lapse in judgement, I only just took care of my Pitt fee and picture. Emailed them the photo and the check is in the mail. All of the others were online so I kinda forgot about this one. Hopefully it won't negatively affect my chances too much...

It won't. I waited nearly a month after I submitted my primary before I sent in the supplemental. I agree, the whole snail mail thing definitely made me forget about it.

Has anyone else sent their check/picture and has not gotten confirmation? I mailed mine on the 12th or 13th.

I doubt we're gonna get confirmation. I sent my check/picture on the 9th. My check should've arrived by the 16th and it hasn't been cashed yet, but I see other schools which I have mailed out later have cashed my check.
 
Pittsburgh emailed me today. 'Your application, along with your supplemental fee and photo, has been received by the Admissions Office of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Your application is now complete and verified and will, over the next several weeks and months, be reviewed by the Members of the Admissions Committee. '

Sweet thanks for the update, it just puts me at ease when schools do this!
 
I checked today and they still haven't cashed the check yet or sent me an email, but other schools have. Seems that they are a bit slower in processing that other schools. Thanks for the updates everyone!
 
They're getting ready for me and 79 others to storm the halls in a couple months. Be patient.
 
In general how long have people been waiting for this email? I sent in my supplemental info about 12 days ago and haven't heard anything. My AADSAS app has also been verified so I know it's not that.
 
It takes about 13 days and 6 hours. Hang tight buddy

Check the "school decisions" part of your app and see if Pitt has updated your status. They did for me, but I haven't received an email yet.
 
Nope I esubmitted mine 6/17/15, transcript was received 6/12/15, not verified yet. I'm thinking it'll be verified by 7/1
 
I like Pitt a lot. Am I competitive enough? 3.6 overall, 3.5 science, 23AA/24TS, I'm just worried cause they only take 80

Most people have been verified in about a week and a half. Some have been verified in 5 days, some are still waiting after two weeks. It's hard to gauge how long it will take.
