did u get anything from U of Pittsburgh...any idea when they will call for interview?

nothing yet from pittsburg even when i called them they were so rude to me ,i asked them if my application was complete she said she couldnt tell me that and if it wasnt complete they would send a reject letter by mail

yes sam,i suugest no one calls pittsburg unless they need some rude replies...i heve read on the predent forums that some colleges tell even the acceptences by phone...

yes the lady at Pittsburg was pretty rude.... I sent in my application and called her and asked whether my application was complete. She told if it is not complete they'll send it back. She was pretty rude abt it...the way she told it. I got my application sent back bcos I had send in a NBDE score report( which was officially sealed , I had an extra copy and had done it with another school, where they had accepted it as long as it was officially sealed) bcos they want it rite from ADA. . But they were greedy enough to take the 50$ application fee. I mean it was ok if my application fee was taken when they had processed my application and sent me a rejection letter etc. But they send my application back.....but they were ready to take the application fee. Here I was really irritated not bcos of the 50$ but the way they did it.......I felt it was not ethical.....It is shocking how greedy one can be....But what can we do? Nothing .....There are schools where people are friendly and nice....After all we are not asking them money..They are also gaining a lot out of it rite?..We want to study and I don' t know what they are going to lose by being nice abt it.

butter snow,you should have asked them the fee as well,the fee was for processing your application when they returned it they might as well give the fee back,the attitude at pittsburg is so unbelieveable
 
If they returned the application they should return the fee as well. Looks like there's no end for greed.
Can you send the official scores directly and update your application and send it back without the fee this time ?
 
hey there...looks like the way yu guys have spoken about her, the lady is a real shady character!! well, did yu know that you can sue the univ and get the lady fired for such rude behavior!! just go ahead and atleast threaten her over the fone that "my lawyer will be the next person to talk to you if you speak to me so rudely" and yeah butter snow, if yu do wanna be a millionarie you may go a step ahead and tape the conv with her rude remarks and proceed to sue them!! she dare not do it!! the univ claims they are an equal opportunistic affirm institution and no discrimination of any form can be entertained!
this is a capitalistic society and only he who serves the cutomer well survives! if she cant do this properly, she better not stay there.....really wish one of you'll would also go ahead and threaten her as i said, if she talks rudely again!
(ps: sorry for the extra usage of economical principles here, but i cant help being an economics major in my college)
 
u know kajal,i tell myself this is the price you have to pay for living in a foreign country,not just here but in other places as well i hesitate coz i am a foreigner i have learnt to adjust
 
hi! this is what happens to me also. when i asked her about my status of application she told me very rudly that we sent your application back, but i never received it.
so i don't know she told me so i will not ask her again or they already sent me my application............but i really dont want to call them again...........

the same thing happened with me. they returned my application & took my 50$. They had some problem with reccomendation letters. they returned my application now & gave me a letter saying that we should receive all things which are missing by november 15 2003 ( which is gone) . When i asked them how it is possibble then they are saying we cannot help it, apply next year.Its really insane to send whole application back.Even i have bad experience with that rude lady. I am really mad at them🙁
 
Send a letter to the higher ups like the dean or admissions committee. Being rude to candidates is not an appropriate behaviour.
 
I agree with Henna. You guys should go ahead and send letters to the dean. If this is the way they treat applicants, you can picture how they treat students. 🙄

Henna, I had applied to Pittsburgh bcos I was worried about not getting admission in any dental school. But since I got into USC and am on the waiting list in UOP am not bothered about pittsburgh much...

Green emerald just a kind suggestion. 🙂 don't ever start feeling that because we are foreigners we are not treated well. I think , if there is a place in this world where people don't have to worry abt being foreigners it is in United States. Foreigners are especially treated well bcos the country thrives on us foreigners to a great extent. They are really polite to us....the reason is, in this country, people are interested in improving their business, profits for which they need money...they are really happy to be friendly and nice to people who help them achieve it. We foreigners contribute a great part to them...For example, look how much we pay for the IDS program...Look how many software engineers come from other countries?? I am just saying this because if one starts feeling that we are foreigners we are not treated well one'll never feel happy living in this country neither will one be able to stand up to the real rude people (who exists everywhere)and tell them to BACK OFF! 🙂

Henna, I am going to try out ur suggestion....about writing a letter to the higher people about how we feel by their behaviour. Guys I think we should do this . Whoever feel they are not treated well can send either an email or a letter..

I can't believe that they wold take your application money and then send everything back. Did you have to repay your 50 dollars again? If you did..there's something seriously wrong about that. I would definitely speak to someone about that.

Just a note as to treating foreigners differently than others. It's sad, but very true. I have also experienced that. I think it just shows that person's ignorance and lack of self respect. Let them be stupid, but don't go to their level.

Since you have already been accepted at USC , you have nothing to loose, ( all the more reason to send a letter) to let the higher ups know how cadidates are treated.
Let them know that you are genuinely concerned about how cadidates are being treated by that particular person.
They will believe you as you have nothing to gain by bringing their attention to this kind of behaviour and its not good publicity for them.

They never tell when they will be calling.....I browsed last years postings in this forum and i found that they will be calling in Jan..

Hi guys,

I had the same problem. They didn't receive my TOEFL score by nov. 15th, so she said they wouldn't consider my application. There goes my 50 $$ too!!.
 
hi blr,how did you know they didnt receive your toefl score,bcos they sent me a mail that they didnt receive my toefl and i re sent it...and i couldnt get any othert info from them if they received my scores before 15th or not

Hi green emerald,

I called them up after nov. 1st and asked her if my application was complete. U should try calling them up, maybe 9.30-10 am. I had been to the UOP interview, so couldn't answer earlier.GOOD LUCK!!
 
hi i got a rejection letter from upitt today thats fort the interview...just curious if anyone has got an interview call and if you did can you post your stats as well
