University of Rochester is a Tier-1 university well known for pre-meds. Do medical schools consider it to be an excellent pre-med institution?

If you want to be $50k+ in debt in the end. I went to RIT back in the 90's. One of my close friends was student at UR and was $54k in debt.

They do have a good med school and lots of research (some of it spilling over to the RIT Micro-electronics engineering dept where I stated a masters). It would be easier to get in UR med if you were an undergrad there.

I'm actually currently a junior at University of Rochester and love it. I don't want to go to their medical school though, I want to be a bit closer to home (central NY). Do other medical schools like applicants from the school as well?

UR is a great school. I used to go to "Dandilion Day" every year  A degree there will not hurt you....... even though RIT is much better 😎
